​I’m Michael Startin, and I help people explore and unlock the power of their own minds to move beyond resistance, reduce stress, and grow in new ways. My work blends curiosity, science, and creativity—creating space for meaningful change.
My journey into therapy:
​

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been curious about how the mind works - especially through the lenses of psychology and psychoanalysis.

While teaching in 2015, I completed a Foundation Certificate at The Institute of Psychoanalysis.
-
In 2016, I earned my MA in Psychoanalysis, History and Culture from Birkbeck, University of London.
-
From 2016–2019, I worked in humanitarian aid in Greece, which deepened my compassion and reaffirmed my calling to therapeutic work.
Professional training and experience:

Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy (Hypno-CBT®) (2020–2023), UK College of Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy, accredited by the British Psychological Society.

Integrative Psychotherapy training (2024–ongoing) with the National College of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy (UKCP-accredited).

Practicing hypnotherapy-based therapy since 2023.

Trained volunteer at The No Panic Helpline since 2025.
